A true disciple of Jesus Christ is a devoted bondservant motivated by love for the Lord Jesus. I revere the Lord, I fear him, I respect him and I admire him but I am incapable of truly loving him on my own. This is where the Holy Spirit must intercede for me. After reading Oswald's my utmost for his highest (July2nd), I realized that only through the Holy Spirit can I truly be a devoted bondservant in the way that I love the Lord.
"And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:5
So often I pour myself into my own abilities, my own agenda, and my own plans but I am seeing that "my own" distracts my devotion to my Jesus.
